Praying is obeying, loving and respecting God’s authority and will, which is His Word. It is the creature saying to the Creator, who is his or her heavenly Father:
“I need you. I want to please You Father God, before everyone and
everything. I am solely dependent upon You and without You, I am nothing.
But with You, I can do all things.”
God has given dominion and authority on earth to mankind. And prayer is the way God establishes His kingdom on earth. Therefore, God’s kingdom of heaven can only manifest on earth by and through the prayers and obedience of a righteous man or woman.
When a righteous man or woman prays or intercedes, God can delay His judgment on earth so that souls are saved, restored, healed, and delivered before Jesus returns to rapture His Bride, the Church, which we are. Until then, if you are a child of God, you are a “sent one” called to rule and reign on earth in your jurisdiction of authority by faith in Christ Jesus and obedience to God’s Word. Genesis 1:26-28 clearly states your kingdom mandate and assignment:
“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to
Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea,
over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth
And over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. So God
Created man in His own image; in the image of God He created
him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them,
and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and
subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of
the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” NKJV
Because you have been given dominion and authority in Jesus’ name, the enemy is relentless at trying to stop you from praying God’s will. Prayer establishes God’s kingdom on earth. The enemy knows that when you open your mouth and decree creative words of authority, Almighty God will answer by demolishing his kingdom and tearing down his strongholds. The enemy knows this truth better than some believers, that when the righteous cry out, Daddy God hears their prayers (Psalm 34:17). Regarding the prayers of the righteous, James 5:16 says:
“The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous
man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its
A characteristic of a mature, righteous man and woman is praying fervent prayers that release divine power, demonstration, and manifestation. The word “fervent” in Greek is “energeo,” which is where we get the word “energy.” It means “to be active, efficient:—do, (be) effectual (fervent), be mighty in, show forth self, work (effectually in).”
Fervent prayer involves your entire being – spirit, soul, and body. It is red-hot, Holy Spirit-inspired prayer that boils over from a heart. It is always based upon the God-kind of faith (Mark 11:22-26, Heb. 11:6, 1 John 5:14-15). Before you open your mouth to pray and decree a thing, you know the answer is “yes and amen” because God, by His Spirit, is inspiring you to pray.
When you fervently pray, heaven shows up on the earth, changing things.
If you do not pray, who will? How can the angels release heaven on earth if you do not pray? Every true believer is called to pray and obey God’s will to advance His kingdom on earth. When you pray fervent prayers, you enforce Jesus’ imminent defeat of the enemy until His return for us, His Bride, the Church (Col. 2:15). When you pray by the power in Jesus’ name, you serve as Daddy God’s law enforcement agent on earth, serving the devil notice that He is powerless and defeated.
I encourage you, as a righteous heir and royal priest of the Most High God and as an ambassador of Christ Jesus, to pray without ceasing until the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lord and His Christ and He shall reign forever and ever (Rev. 11:15).
